Job Description
:Principal/Senior Ecologist
Working closely within an existing team of over 20 full-time ecologists in the UK, this is an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to take responsibility for developing our ecological business stream within our well-established office.
The successful applicant would be responsible for managing and undertaking a wide variety of ecological projects, maintaining and developing a diverse client base in the north-west and ultimately developing and managing a team of ecologists.
Key Competencies
Skills: Sound field skills covering a range of taxa, preferably with specialist knowledge of particular species/species groups; good knowledge of relevant UK and European legislation; demonstrable experience in EcIA/EIA and ecological mitigation projects; sound project management skills; staff management experience (desirable); good IT skills; full driving licence.
Experience
Qualifications: Relevant degree as a minimum. Further qualification and membership of an appropriate professional body (e.g. IEEM) desirable.
Experience: Minimum of three/five years post-graduate experience (Senior/Principal), preferably in the consultancy sector.
Personal Qualities: Must be enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and dynamic and able to work well as part of a team. Needs to show a demonstrable commitment to the environmental sector and a genuine passion for ecology whilst at the same time be keen to further a career in environmental consultancy.

The organisation provides a range of high quality engineering, environmental, planning and management services to a diverse range of clients in the public and private sectors and to social and economic regeneration projects worldwide.
