Operational Safety Case Engineer See other jobs from Solutions Driven Ltd Status: Full Time Salary: £20000 - £30000 per annum + up to £30K with benefits Job Location: Europe > United Kingdom > Argyll & Bute   Job Description OPERATIONAL SAFETY CASE ENGINEER - Up to £29K with benefits – West of Scotland - Helensburgh Reporting to the Head of Nuclear Compliance, these new posts form a key part of the company's drive towards integration of the new vessel activities into the existing HMNB Clyde Nuclear Site Safety Justification. Role: • Development and production of the nuclear safety justification for Astute Class operations and maintenance activities within the Authorised Site at HMNB Clyde. • Identify the required conditions and limits, against critical safety functions and hazards identified, to support the vessel's scope of operations at HMNB Clyde. • Research the existing Facility design substantiation to support operations within the Authorised Site. • To be the focal point within HMNB Clyde to incorporate technical documentation into the safety justification for vessel operations at HMNB Clyde. • Support the Site Safety Justification Manager in the development and maintenance of a fully justified and compliant Nuclear Site Safety Justification. Qualifications/Experience: 10 - Practical experience of nuclear justification requirements and development of safety cases 10 - Knowledge of NSRP systems and operations 10 - Analytical – able to use evidence to support justifications 10 - Excellent written and verbal communication – able to communicate and influence safety arguments 9 - Knowledge of nuclear and radiological safety of SSBN/SSN operations within Authorised Site / Licensed Site arrangements 9 - Effective time manager- can plan, prioritise and measure self performance 9 - Problem Solver - can simplify and apply logical/methodical methods 9 - Organisational Agility - Multi-tasker effective and efficient 8 - Recognised professional engineering degree or equivalent professional qualifications and experience. 8 - Understanding of modern Site Safety Justification requirements. 8 - Experience in the use of PRA/PSA or HAZOP to support safety arguments Qualifications/Skills Required Nuclear Site Safety Justification.
