Job Description
Landscape Officers (salary £25,000 - £30,000 pa dependent on experience)
MODern Housing Solutions is a purpose built joint venture company, made up from Carillion plc, Enterprise plc, and Atkins Defence Asset Management. It is specifically constructed to deliver the maintenance of Service Families Accommodation (SFA). It is therefore able to bring the maximum flexibility and responsiveness to the task MHS is committed to a collaborative approach. We believe that this way the effectiveness of the whole can be greater than the sum of the parts.
We are currently looking for Landscape Officers to work in the following regions;
· South West
· South East
· London
· North
· East
This role will require individuals to be responsible for a zone but you will also be required to work over the zone boundaries, as and when necessary, to allow for high workload volumes. Mobility will be necessary to enable the individual to audit other zones and to assist in the smooth delivery of the service.
Purpose of role
To establish and maintain the agreed level of grounds maintenance within the Estate, in collaboration with the Business and the Supply Chain. The successful candidate will ensure the quality and level of service delivery provided ensures hard and soft landscapes are appropriately enhanced throughout the contract period. You will need to undertake technical tree inspections and surveys in accordance with BS5730 and to provide advice on issues relating to tree safety.
Essential requirements for the role include;
· A HND, ND, NC or City and Guilds Qualification in Arboriculture, Horticulture or related discipline
· A National Proficiency Test Council (NPTC) Certificate of competence in the Use of Pesticides, units PA1- Foundation Module and PA6 Hand held applicators.
· A minimum of 5 years Arboricultural and Horticultural/ Grounds Maintenance management experience.
The successful candidate will have good understanding of the key trades and accepted standards of workmanship with excellent all round organisational skills. You will have the ability to think clearly and act decisively under pressure. You will be committed to achieving customer standards and have a flexible approach to work to meet the customers needs. You will possess excellent communication skills and be a proactive team player. The candidate must be committed to improvement and be receptive to change. with good foresight and the ability to plan ahead.
