Job Description
ROLE
Environmental Manager - Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety, Environment & Quality - a capable, efficient and effective Environmental Manager based at a client's service centre, the role requires an individual who can contribute to improving performance both at strategic and operational levels. A strong, effective and experienced “change manager” with the ability to empower and manage employees.
· Accountable to the Head of Health, Safety, Environment & Quality for the establishment of environmental policy for the site.
· Development and management of ISO 14001 on behalf of site.
· Develop and establish strategies to implement environmental initiatives.
· Investigate, in conjunction with DSA, all environmental incidents throughout site.
· Ensure site Satellites receive adequate environmental support.
· Ensure all aspects of environmental policy are implemented throughout the site and it's Satellites through the management and conduct of audits and inspections.
· Responsible for ensuring all employees receives advice on environmental issues through a training strategy.
· Provision of energy management advice and guidance.
PERSON SPEC
10 – Min of 5-10 years experience operating at a " senior management " level with an environmental and safety focus
10 - Recognised professional qualification in IEMA/IOSH/NEBOSH.
10 – Experience of managing external organizations – SEPA, EPA etc
10 - Experience of managing a small team of environmental specialists
10 – Experience of managing multiple projects in a complex estate and infrastructure & highly knowledgeable about current best practices.
10 – Experienced in development and management of ISO 14001
10 – High levels of drive for results, motivational tactics, and use of performance management
10 – Interpersonal Savvy - relates well to all kinds of people, up, down, and sideways, inside and outside the organisation; builds appropriate rapport;
10 - Organisational Agility - knowledgeable about how large organisational networks operate
9 - Excellent understanding of legal and statutory framework.
9- Able to deal in a complex, sometimes ambiguous, matrixed environment - internal and customer managers
