Job Description
Environmental Management Systems Consultant
The Manchester Environmental team have a new requirement for a consultant with the following specification:
Environmental Management Systems consultant
equivalent Grade Engineer
Overall Package value up to 25k
The role envisaged will be Project Managing a two year Environmental support programme recruiting and delivering support to small medium sized businesses, liaising with and reporting to funding bodies, and developing relationships with supply chain leaders and public sector bodies.
In addition the successful candidate will also be part of the EMS team and will have some involvement with commercial projects in the UK.
This is a full time post and at the end of the two year project the successful candidate will be recognised as a full member of the consulting team and assigned to commercial projects commensurate with experience and capabilities.
Key Competencies
Must have experience in the implementation of environmental management systems, working with commercial organisations, project management, training and presentations.
Experience
Desirable experience with European or Govt funded projects, working with small medium sized businesses, working with the supply chains of larger organisations, and auditing.
Ideally Minimum 1 year practical experience in the environmental field although would consider Post Graduate qualified candidate with other industry experience.
Must be a self starter, capable of working individually or as part of a team, confident and with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ideally Located in (or amenable to relocate to) the Nottingham, South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire region but would consider locations across Yorkshire, Manchester, Lancashire.

Qualifications/Skills
Required
Qualifications:
First degree in civil engineering, engineering geology or geotechnics;
Higher degree in geotechnical engineering an advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience in geotechnical/ground engineering including geotechnical design in one or more of the following areas:
Slope stability and stabilisation methods;
Ground improvement;
Earthworks;
Foundations;
Retaining walls.
